Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 10, 2026

Briefly ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at briefly.givingback.ai and provides YouTube analytics reporting services. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Data you provide directly

  • Email address and full name— provided when you upload a CSV or sign in with Google.
  • CSV files— YouTube Analytics exports you upload for report generation.

Data we receive from Google OAuth

When you connect your YouTube account, we request read-only access through two OAuth scopes:

  • yt-analytics.readonly— Read your YouTube Analytics data (views, watch hours, subscriber changes).
  • youtube.readonly— Read basic channel info (channel name, subscriber count, video count).

We also receive your Google account email and display name as part of the sign-in process. We store a refresh token so we can fetch updated analytics on your behalf without requiring you to re-authenticate each time.

Data we do NOT collect

  • We never collect your password. Google handles all authentication.
  • We do not collect payment or billing information.
  • We never post, modify, or delete anything on your YouTube channel. Our access is strictly read-only.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Generate personalized analytics reports— This is the core purpose. We analyze your YouTube data to create growth recommendations tailored to your channel.
  • Improve our service— We use aggregated, anonymized usage patterns to make our reports better.
  • Communicate with you— We send report delivery emails and occasional product updates. You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time.

3. Google OAuth & API Scopes

Our use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

  • We only request scopes necessary for the features you use (YouTube Analytics reading and channel info).
  • We do not use Google data for advertising, and we do not sell or share Google user data with third parties.
  • We do not allow humans to read your raw Google data except to provide or improve the service you requested (report generation), for security purposes, or to comply with applicable law.
  • Our access is read-only. We cannot and do not modify your YouTube content.

4. Data Storage & Security

  • CSV files are stored in Amazon S3 with server-side encryption.
  • Google OAuth refresh tokens are stored in Amazon DynamoDB with encryption at rest.
  • Report data is stored in Amazon S3.
  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. We do not store data in unencrypted form.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you request deletion, we will remove your data within 30 days. Generated reports may be retained in anonymized form for service improvement.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. We use the following infrastructure providers to operate the service:

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)— Cloud hosting, storage, and database.
  • Google— OAuth authentication and YouTube API access.
  • ZeptoMail— Transactional email delivery.

These providers process data only as necessary to provide their services and are bound by their own privacy policies.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access— Request a copy of all data we hold about you.
  • Delete— Request deletion of your account and all associated data, including revocation of your Google OAuth connection.
  • Export— Receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Revoke access— You can revoke Briefly's access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account permissions page.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at sauravsharma011@gmail.com.

8. Cookies

We use minimal cookies necessary for authentication (session tokens). We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymized usage data. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

9. Children's Privacy

Briefly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by email or by posting a notice on our website. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
